Tracking Chicory and her Crew
Chicory is equipped with an Automatic Identification System (AIS) Transponder, which transmits our position to other boats and ships in our area.
This is a powerful tool we use for collision avoidance. We can see similarly equipped vessels and they can see us on their navigation computer.
If we are within 10 to 20 miles of an AIS land station, they will report our position to www.MarineTrafic.com and you can find our position anywhere in the world. Just click on the screen to the right and you will be brought to the Marine Traffic site, where you can search for Chicory (Type Chicory in the search field shown by the green arrow) and select the pleasure vessel Chicory to see our current location.
