Chicory's Starboard Side Forward Cabin Refit
This is how the the forward cabin looked prior to the start of our refit. The settee on the starboard side concealed a 30 gallon stainless steel water tank that had a pin-hole leak. We decided to remove the tank and use the space for storage.
This picture shows the settee and water tank removed.
Our plan was to have two, twin high-bunks in the forward cabin with storage underneath. The first step in this process was to build the support platform for the bunk.
The space that had housed the old water tank was converted to storage space and a base for storage shelving.
The base frame was wrapped in 3/4 "teak plywood.
The port side bunk created a significant amount of storage space. The base received a support rail for the sliding doors with a three inch toe-kick area.
The support rail and sliding doors in place prior to trim being applied.
This image shows the trim applied prior to sanding and polyurethane application.
